HOW TO SEND US ARTWORK

The following guidelines explain how you can get us your artwork. Following the instructions carefully will reduce the time necessary to complete your order and may save you any additional art fees. The guidelines are listed in order from most to least preferable.

SENDING DIGITAL ARTWORK
We are currently running ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR CS3.0, COREL DRAW 13.0, and PHOTOSHOP CS3.0 on a MACINTOSH platform. We can therefore easily accept files from most major PC and MAC design software.

There are basically two types of artwork that we will work with, Line Art (or Vectorized Art) and Bitmap (or Rasterized Art). Line Art is the best for text and graphics because it can easily be resized without compromising the clarity. It is also necessary for any vinyl or dimensional signs as it provides a path for plotters and routers to follow. Bitmap Art is typical for photographs and requires an high enough resolution so that when the image is resized it does not become too grainy or pixelly.

Recommended Line Art formats include .ai .eps .cdr
(Remember: convert fonts to outlines/curves)
Recommended Bitmap formats include .psd .tiff .bmp and .jpeg (resolutions should be as high as possible)

We can convert bitmap images to vector images if necessary at an hourly design rate of $55.00.

E-MAIL
Graphics may be sent as an e-mail attachment. E-mail message should include all necessary artwork specifics: Size, Colors (include PMS #'s if necessary), special instructions, etc. Click send a file to begin the file transfer process.

DISKS
Artwork may be brought in or sent to us on a CD.

COMPRESSION
Large files may be compressed before transport. We support ZIP files for PC's and Stuff-it files for MAC's.

FONTS
Fonts must be converted to outline/curves before exporting to e-mail or disk. This will insure that your text appears the same on our computer as it does on yours.

HARD COPY
A hard copy of the artwork should be faxed, mailed, or brought in with digital art so we can tell that nothing was lost in file translation. Goodson Signs is not responsible for missing file information if no hard copy is provided.

If additional art services are necessary to make your artwork usable you will be informed that a $55.00 per hour service fee will be charged.

Do not send us your only copy of your artwork. Always keep a copy for yourself.

NON-DIGITAL ARTWORK
At Goodson Signs we also have the ability of scanning and cleaning up printed artwork for use on your signs. Printed artwork varies in quality from high resolution linotronic camera ready art to business cards or letterhead prints. Printed artwork can be mailed or brought in to us (not faxed). High quality artwork is subject to a $20.00 scanning fee. If additional clean-up is needed for poorer artwork you will be informed that a $55.00 per hour service fee will be charged.
